Measurements

Review the tips below to establish your sizes

Why Finding the Right Fit Matters:

    1.    Comfort
The right fit ensures your clothes move with you, sit comfortably, and aren’t restrictive. Ill-fitting garments can feel uncomfortable, whether they’re too tight or too baggy.
   2.    Flattering Appearance
Well-fitted clothing enhances your body’s natural shape and balances proportions, giving you a polished and flattering look. The right fit emphasizes your best features and minimizes areas you might want to downplay.
   3.    Functionality
Clothes that fit well are functional, allowing you to perform daily tasks easily without adjusting or worrying about discomfort.
   4.    Maintains Style & Quality
Clothes are designed to fit in a certain way. Wearing pieces that are too big or too small can distort the look and feel of the garment, reducing its quality and appeal.
   5.    Professionalism & Image
In professional or social settings, well-fitted clothes give a more polished and confident impression. The right fit sends a message that you care about your appearance and presentation.

Why Measure?

    1.    Accurate Measurements = Better Fit
Proper measurements are the foundation for buying or tailoring clothes that fit well. Without accurate numbers, clothes may feel too tight, too loose, or simply uncomfortable.
   2.    Saves Time & Money
Taking precise measurements helps avoid costly returns, exchanges, or alterations. It ensures you’re purchasing the right size the first time, especially for online shopping.
   3.    Increases Confidence
Clothes that fit well make you feel more confident, comfortable, and put-together. Good measurements ensure that your clothing complements your shape and enhances your personal style.
   4.    Ensures Customization
For custom-made clothing or alterations, precise measurements allow a tailor or designer to create pieces that perfectly suit your body, ensuring a unique and flattering fit.

Women's Tops

Essential Measurements to Know:

Bust

   Wear a well-fitting, non-padded bra.
Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it straight across your back and level with the front.
Ensure the tape is snug but not too tight. You should be able to slip a finger under the tape without distorting the measurement.

Waist

Stand naturally without sucking in your stomach.
Find the narrowest part of your torso, typically

just above your belly button, and measure around this area.
Relax your body while measuring to get the most accurate reading of how the top will fit around your waist.

Shoulder Width

    Stand with good posture.
Measure from the tip of one shoulder to the tip of the other shoulder, across the upper back.
Use a mirror to ensure the tape is straight and level for an accurate measurement.

Arm Length / Sleeve

Slightly bend your arm to get a comfortable, realistic measurement.
Start from the top of your shoulder and measure down to your wrist, following the curve of your bent arm.
Don’t stretch the tape too tightly; leave enough room for comfortable movement in the sleeve.

Getting the Right Fit:

Waist

    Measure your natural waistline.
Wrap the tape measure around the narrowest part of your waist, typically just above your belly button.
Relax your body and leave a bit of breathing room, so the pants won’t be too tight.

Hips

Stand with good posture, and with your feet together.
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks, typically around 7-9 inches below your waist.
Make sure the tape is straight and snug without being too tight for an accurate measurement.
Use a mirror to ensure the tape is straight and level for an accurate measurement.

Inseam

Use a pair of pants that fit well as a reference.
Measure from the inside of your upper thigh down to your ankle bone or where you’d like the hem to fall.
Stand straight with your legs slightly apart to get the most accurate length.

Thigh

Stand naturally without flexing your muscles.
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your thigh, close to the crotch area.
Keep the tape straight and snug to get a good fit, especially for fitted jeans.

Rise (Optional)

Understand where you want your jeans to sit—low, mid, or high-rise.
Measure from the crotch seam up to the point on your waist where you want the waistband to sit.

This helps in choosing the perfect rise, ensuring the jeans sit comfortably on your body.

Mastering Your Fit

Size Charts:

Why Precise Measurements Matter

For men, finding the right fit is just as important as it is for women. Whether it’s a tailored suit, casual shirt, or everyday tee, proper measurements are essential to achieving a sharp, polished look. Unlike standard sizing, which can vary across brands, knowing your exact measurements gives you the power to select clothes that complement your body type and fit comfortably.

Taking the time to measure yourself not only helps you avoid the hassle of returns and exchanges but also ensures you feel confident and put-together in whatever you wear. From chest and shoulders to sleeve length and waist, these measurements form the foundation of a great-fitting wardrobe. Before we jump into the tips, let’s explore why understanding your measurements is key to nailing that perfect fit every time.

Men's Tops

Essential Measurements to Know:

Chest

Stand naturally with your arms relaxed at your sides.
Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your chest, just under your armpits. Ensure it’s level across your back.
Don’t puff out your chest or hold your breath—measure as you stand normally.

Waist (Bottom)

Measure at the narrowest point of your waist.
Wrap the tape around your natural waistline, usually just above your belly button.
Keep the tape snug but not tight to ensure your top fits comfortably around your midsection.

Shoulder Width

Stand with good posture, keeping your back straight.
Measure from the tip of one shoulder to the other across the top of your back.
Use a mirror or ask for help to ensure the tape stays level.

Sleeve Length

Slightly bend your arm to get a comfortable, realistic measurement.
Start from the top of your shoulder and measure down to your wrist, following the curve of your bent arm.
Don’t stretch the tape too tightly; leave enough room for comfortable movement in the sleeve.

Neck Circumference

Wrap the tape measure around the base of your neck where a shirt collar would sit.
Insert a finger between your neck and the tape to ensure the collar won’t be too tight.

Bonus Tip

Always recheck your measurements periodically, especially if your body changes, to maintain a perfect fit for all your tops!
