Melanie Amber (aka Mel) is an American actress and visual artist currently based in Los Angeles. Born in Manhattan, NY, a fourth generation granddaughter to historical roots, knew from an early age that she had an eye for art. She's gained valuable experience in art, dance, film and tv production, as well as her pursuits in fashion designing, buying, styling, sales and merchandising. At the age of three, she performed on stage for the first time, and quickly after, she added visual arts to her repertoire. Through childhood until high school, Mel trained in dance. Most notably, she studied ballet with New York City Ballet / George Balanchine trained instructors, and when she was twelve she attended an art program at a The Fine Arts Center, a notable school in her hometown where she studied theater. This prepared her for an audition that would cement her acceptance to an award winning magnet middle school for the visual and performing arts, League Academy. She studied theater in Middle School, High School & College, and has been working in the film and television industry since 2017. For high school, Mel auditioned and was accepted to another magnet school where she majored in theater for her four years there. Her freshmen year, she studied musical theater while simultaneously attending The Fine Arts Center for an art program she was accepted into. There, she studied photography, sketching, painting, ceramics, and metal work. By her senior Melanie was receiving AP Honors credit for her theater studies, and she also worked as a Teacher Cadet at her former Middle School, League Academy, teaching and assisting with their notable 8th grade theater program.  Melanie's first SAG-AFTRA role was as a Stunt Actress on The Walking Dead where she played a "Walker". This was filmmed in Atlanta, GA in 2021 when she traveled from LA back to ATL for the opprtunity. She has also worked as a Model, Actress, Stunt Actor, Stand-In, Photo-double, Fit Model, Costumer, in Craft Services on an array of productions including: Stranger Things, The Avengers, Star on FOX, and a number of Tyler Perry Productions, on Networks such as: Netflix, HBO, OWN, NBC, STARZ and BET. Mel received her undergraduates degree from Virginia Tech. She worked in stage production and theater, as she completed her degree in Marketing and Fashion Buying. Her senior year, she spent a semester as a teacher’s aid in Merchandising Management to share the knowledge that she gained from her experience as a fashion intern in NYC with DKNY (Donna Karan). The following summer she also had the opportunity to intern as a Buyer for Cole Haan. In 2010 Mel utilized her degree and started Magic Mirage LLC. It began as a media network to promote music, visual artists, entrepreneurs, other media companies, real-estate agents, and other fashion entrepreneurs (like herself) via digital media production and social media marketing. She modeled for a variety of designers and worked as a personal shopper promoting her fashion and styling advice. In 2020, Mel designed a line of positive, inspirational and mindful clothing, while helping fashion lovers learn the basics of cultivating a capsule wardrobe. Her company, Magic Mirage offers services like; personal shopping, closet wardrobing (clearing out the clutter from closet and/ or reorganize your clothes based on options that you have, and finding new ways to wear them), closet merchandising, personal shopping, and styling. She has 25 years of experience in the Fashion Industry and has worked for companies such as: Nordstrom, Eileen Fisher, J. Crew, Cole Haan, Anthropologie, Donna Karan (DKNY), Banana Republic, Victoria's Secret and Americas Mart of Atlanta in departments such as; Styling, Personal Shopping Visual Merchandising, Corporate Buying, Customer Service, Management & Sales.
